Welcome to day 4 of my 7 days of Halloween. For today’s treat, I have another assemblage piece. This is a spooky coffin box with an Edgar Allan Poe “The Raven” theme. The box used is a craft wood box that opens like a jewelry box. I purchased this one at Michaels (couldn’t find a link on website). This is a seasonal item and they are great to stock up on at the end of the season to use as favors the following year. This box came together because of my Tim Holtz Idea-ology 2018 Halloween ephemera pack. I was looking thru all the bits and saw the one photo of Edgar Allan Poe, I then pulled out my Idea-ology baroque frames and thought hmm that would look cool together, then I put them on the coffin box and the spell began. This one had many steps, too many to easily layout her for you but the basic materials were the wood coffin box, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween 2018 ephemera piece, Tim Holtz Idea-ology baroque frame, distress resist spray, gothic stencil (Tim Holtz stampers anonymous layering stencil), black paint, Dylusions pomegranate seed paint, scrapbook paper, embossing powder, archival ink, raven stamps and a little magic ;).
I see this box as a cute addition to a bookshelf, or as a set of favors for a party with treats inside, maybe even as a gift for that Edgar Allan Poe lover you know.
This box will be listed on my etsy shop (while supplies last): Edgar Allan Poe Coffin Box
You can watch the magic happen in my Youtube Video: Edgar Allan Poe Coffin Box
Here are some still shots to get those cauldrons bubbling:
As always below is a list of the supplies I used to make this piece. Happy crafting have a spooktacular time!
