Today I am back with a quick holiday hack courtesy of Mr. Tim Holtz. I was watching his holiday tip trick videos for 2018 and he showed dying his idea-ology trees using his distress sprays. Now I don’t have any distress sprays (yet), so I was wondering hmm, what do I have that I could use to dye the trees now. I looked around and there were my Dylusions shimmer sprays. Now I know for some folks the Dylusion line can be bold and bright but I am one of those that has two hearts for Christmas, one leans to vintage and the other is very colorful bohemian. Therefore, I took out my sprays and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the results. The Dylusions sprays worked lovely on the trees and I can’t wait for some time to incorporate them into some vignette box decorations! Just remember they are not permanent though and will react with water so if you make this lovely craft be sure to store it somewhere it will stay dry.
All I needed for this project was:
1. A cardboard box to spray over/in
2. Dylusions Shimmer Sprays in Pure Sunshine, Crushed Grape, Polished Jade, London Blue, and Bubble Gum
2. The Tim Holtz Idea-ology woodlands small tree lot
3. A container for water
4. Small cups to dip the tree tips in
5. Lots of paper towels (An old towel would work too)
You can see the process video on my Youtube channel: Dylusions Shimmer Trees
Here are some still shots of these lovely trees:
I hope these lovely vibrant trees gave you some holiday ideas to break out those Dylusion sprays and brighten up this holiday season.
