Hello, my crafting family,
Today I want to share with you a piece I did on gesso board. I began my art journey as a canvas artist. I started in oil paints, then moved to acrylic, later I moved to mixed media on canvas. Over time I discovered art journaling and I loved stamps and stencils but struggled to use them on canvas. In a recent trip to Hobby Lobby, I discovered some quaint sized gesso boards. They are about 3/4″ thick and hollow backed, but still a sturdy board. They are light so perfect for collage and then being able to still display them. I also plan to in a future post/video try them with beeswax, so stay tuned.
Well, today’s piece was inspired by my latest Tim Holtz Idea-ology haul of new goodies from Creativation 2019, as well as my cabinet card digital downloads I have started creating. I’ll do a separate post on my cards. I love to travel and with my cabinet cards, I wanted to tell a story, to imagine what the life of the person may have been liked. I chose the image of “Claire” as I have deemed her and decided to use some of the Tim Holtz Tissue Paper-Postale, as well as his new ephemera pack “Keepsakes” and an oldie “Emporium” to use up my stash and make this board. I also got to play with the Distress Collage Medium in Vintage which was amazing.
